The Band Membership and Indian Registry Administrator is responsible for discovering events affecting the Indian Registry System, such as births, deaths, marriages, transfers, divorces, age of majority, etc.
This administrator is also responsible for obtaining/locating certified documents verifying these events, e.g. birth certificates, death certificate, marriage certificate, etc.
This department also issues Certificates of Indian Status (status cards) to members of Saugeen First Nation #29, as well as other First Nations.
REGULARLY WORKS WITH:
- Saugeen’s Membership office works in tandem with the Finance Department on an annual basis to verify records for Saugeen’s annual Distribution process.
