Job Purposes: Provide support to Indigenous and Non-Indigenous women and children who have been or are at risk. Under the direct supervision of the Kabaeshiwim Manager, the Relief Worker is responsible for the provision of crisis support, advocacy, information, and referral services for residents of the shelter and clients from the crisis line and walk-in services, within the philosophy and guidelines of the Saugeen First Nation #29.

Employment Opportunities with Zaag’Idiwin Naaknigewin

Job Purpose: The Intake Worker serves as the first point of contact for families, community members, and service partners engaging with Zaag’idiwin Naaknigewin. This role is responsible for receiving and responding to referrals, reports, and requests for support in a timely, culturally safe, and trauma-informed manner. The Intake Worker ensures that each referral is assessed for urgency, jurisdiction, and service pathway — guiding families toward the most appropriate supports under Zaag’idiwin and connecting them to the right team (Ganawendan, Minogi’aawaso, or Circle Facilitation). This position plays a vital role in ensuring safety, promoting family-led decision-making, and maintaining compliance with Zaag’idiwin Naaknigewin’s privacy, documentation, and jurisdictional standards.

Job Purpose: The Child Well-being Worker plays a central role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Saugeen First Nation children. Reporting to the Child Well-being Manager, the worker will engage directly with children, families, and community partners to assess and respond to child safety concerns, develop culturally grounded care plans, and provide ongoing support to strengthen family and community connections.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Indigenous approaches to wellness, child development, and healing practices, and uphold the values of Zaag’idiwin – love, respect, courage, honesty, wisdom, humility, and truth.
