Re: Daycare – Consolidation of Operations & Enrolment Pause
Administration, in support and direction from Chief and Council, have been working with our daycare staff to plan for the consolidation of operations within the daycare services. In response to feedback from parents and caregivers, and as part of our commitment to enhancing the quality of childcare services, consolidation of daycare operations will streamline our efforts to provide an enriching environment for our children, while also ensuring that we maintain high standards in service delivery. Our target for this transition is Fall of 2025.
Currently the team is strategic planning for the consolidation of the two daycare centres and are working with a designer to plan for much needed renovations at the G’Shawdagawin location. These renovations will enhance the physical space of the consolidated location.
During the construction of the renovations, the G’Shawdagawin daycare centre will need to be closed to children and staff. To provide continuous service to our existing clients, we will be pausing new enrolments into the daycare until the renovations are complete. While renovations are being conducted, preschool children and staff will be transferred to the Binoojiinh Gamig location.
Upon completion of the renovations at the G’Shawdagawin centre, the Binoojiinh Gamig centre will close it doors permanently and all staff and children will transfer back to the newly renovated site and begin our new journey together.
