On behalf of the Saugeen Enaaknigachig, we are pleased to share with you a draft of the Saugeen First Nation Governance Policy.

The Saugeen Enaaknicgachig, initially referred to as the Governance Committee, has been working tirelessly over the last several months to develop a policy document, grounded in our Seven Grandfather Teachings, that will set out the political, functional, and legal roles and responsibilities of Chief and Council and defines the operational procedures to promote and ensure good governance.

Over the coming weeks and months, we plan to hold a series of community engagement sessions to get your feedback and input on the draft policy. We will not rush the process. We will take our time to ensure everyone understands and has confidence in the policy.
