Community Lab Update

We’re pleased to announce an exciting development in enhancing health services at Saugeen. Beginning May 22, 2025, Patrick Rimbao will join us as our new Community Lab Phlebotomist.

This role was introduced in response to a recognized gap in our delivery service, the need for a dedicated phlebotomist to support and sustain consistent, community-based lab services. Patrick’s experience and skills will help ensure our members and staff havereliable access to care close to home.

Patrick has more than 15 years of experience in clinical and support roles. Most recently, he worked in Specimen Management, where he specialized in the preparation, tracking, and safe handling of specimens. He also brings significant clinical expertise from his previous role as a Military Medical Technician with the Canadian Armed Forces, where he performed venipuncture, ensured infection control, and maintained thorough medical documentation.

Patrick has completed the Medical Laboratory Technician diploma program at Georgian College and holds qualifications in Biomedical Laboratory Technology and as a Primary Care Paramedic.

The Community Lab will be available to all Saugeen First Nation members and staff, and will operate Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All individuals accessing phlebotomy services will require a valid requisition form from a regulated health care provider.

The Community Lab will officially open on June 2, 2025.
