The SFN Beach Advisory Committee Needs Your Help!

The SFN Beach Advisory Committee, with the continued support of Chief & Council, is relaunching the Saugeen Beach Sign initiative in a new and exciting way.

While we did not receive submissions in the initial call-out, we remain committed to ensuring this project is community-inspired and community-led.

We are now inviting Band Members to submit a concept or idea for a unified Gateway Entrance sign that will be installed and used consistently across all four beach entrances.

Rather than requiring a bull design, we are asking for your ideas, themes, symbols, words, or artistic direction that reflect

  • Saugeen First Nation’s culture and identity
  • The meaning of “Chi-Gmiinh” (Big Water)
  • Our connection to the land, water, and future generations

Selected concepts will be incorporated into a final professional design, developed in collaboration with a designer, and installed as a permanent gateway feature as all entrances.

Concept submissions chosen through a community vote will receive an honorarium of $500.

This is your opportunity to help shape a lasting symbol that welcomes visitors while honouring who we are.

More details on submission guidelines and timelines will follow.

Submission deadline: February 27, 2026
